What’s included in my shade pergola kit?
Shade pergola kits are made up of steel units that connect wooden posts together to form your pergola. You will need to purchase the wood for your pergola yourself; the connector units are designed for 4″ x 4″ timber, which is readily available at most large home improvement stores or timber yards. Please note: the dimensions for standard 4″ x 4″ timber are actually 3.5″ x 3.5″, however, this is referred to as 4″ x 4″ in the industry.
This kit includes 8 trio connectors, which create a free-standing cube. You can set the height of your day bed by securing its connectors to the vertical posts and tension it using the supplied turnbuckles. The shade sail is connected to the top frame with the included brackets, you can then attach your shade panel to whichever side you choose using the same method.
Made in Canada, all connectors are made from laser-cut pre-galvanized steel with an outdoor powder-coated finish. All the hardware you need to secure your connectors to your posts is included. If required, the only hardware you will need to purchase is for securing your pergola to a base or wall, which will depend on the material you are securing your pergola to, for example, a brick wall or wooden deck.
Shade pergola kits can easily be extended at a later date by purchasing individual parts. For example, if you wanted to extend your day bed kit by adding a second cube, you would purchase the extra timber and four quad connectors to go in the middle of the structure.
